Common Questions
How big is a sampler?
Samplers run 2.5 to 3.5 oz, targeted at 3 oz — about half our standard 6 oz fillet portion. They're built for trying a species you haven't cooked before, or for a lighter plate.
Same wild caught Gulf fish as our full portions, hand-cut and vacuum sealed the same way. Only the species we have in stock show up as options.
How long can I keep it in my freezer?
For the best quality, we suggest eating within 6 months of purchase. That said, our fish holds excellent quality out to 12 months.
After 12 months it's still safe to eat, but the quality starts to degrade.
Is there a discount for buying in bulk?
Yes. One of the best parts of buying frozen is that it lets you stock your freezer.
Orders over $200 — use code GM200 for 10% off your entire order. Orders over $500 — use code GM500 for 15% off your entire order.
Are there bones in my fillet?
Every fish is hand-cut and portioned, and we remove the bones — pin bones included — as we go. Each fillet is inspected twice before it's packed.
Even so, a small bone slips through now and then. It happens with hand-cut wild fish, so give each fillet a quick check before cooking.
Why Frozen Is Actually Fresher
Frozen Within 48 Hours
Most grocery store fish is 7–10 days old before it hits the counter. Ours is processed and frozen within 48 hours of the fish hitting the dock.
Locks In Nutrition
Flash freezing preserves the omega-3s, protein, and flavor that degrade in fresh fish over time.
Better Than “Fresh”
In seafood, “fresh” often means never frozen but days old. Frozen right means genuinely fresh.
